Blog publishing

Connect your WordPress blog

Connect WordPress.com or a self-hosted site for article drafts and publishing.

On this page

WordPress is a destination for reviewed articles in Blog. It stays separate from your social publishing channels. Blog publishing is available on Founder and Multi-Brand, including supported legacy equivalents.

Choose a connection method#

  1. Open Brand → Social accounts.
  2. Select Add Social Account, then Connect WordPress blog.
  3. Choose WordPress.com for a hosted WordPress.com site, or Self-hosted WordPress for your own installation.

For WordPress.com, sign in, approve access and choose the intended site. Return to Moosen to finish selecting its blog when needed.

Connect a self-hosted site#

Create an application password in WordPress for a user allowed to create and publish posts. Enter WordPress site address, WordPress username or email, and Application password in Moosen's self-hosted connection form. Use the application password rather than your normal sign-in password.

A site with multiple available destinations opens a blog picker. Confirm the site you want to use. If the blog can't be loaded, check the address, user permissions and application password before reconnecting.

Prepare an article#

Open Blog, write or generate an article, then choose the WordPress destination in Publish to. The optional Author ID is a WordPress numeric user ID. It isn't a Shopify author display name.

WordPress supports article text, excerpts, tags, featured images, drafts and native schedules. Shopify SEO fields don't appear for WordPress, and the article editor doesn't offer WordPress categories or SEO-plugin settings. Use your site's tools for those settings.

This connection doesn't require installing a Moosen-branded WordPress plugin. Follow publishing and scheduling after reviewing the article.
